Bad news first, you know I like my veggies before my dessert. I'm putting the NAGT at Trans Am tracks on the back burner for several reasons, first and foremost the frame rate issue, I just don't think I'm getting the laps times I should be due to this. Second, the availability of correct track layouts, even tho all the tracks are in rFactor except for Pittsburgh, most are not the correct layout. Third and finally, the sear amount of cars and tracks, it's just too much, I may take them on one track at a time with every car individually. I'm still learning how to get the handing down on the Sports 5000 and Prototypes in the Le Mans challenge and hope to have one of them done and good, fast clean laps videos up soon. The dessert. I'm going to run the Tour Class or Street Tuner Class cars at what is essentially my local road course track. The TC/ST class cars are just above street legal, some are still street legal. Basically these are cars straight off the showroom floor with a roll cages welded in, some engine tuning and some slight body modifications. The track I'll be running them at is The Mid-America Motorplex right here in Iowa, it's about 300 miles from where I'm sitting, but I still consider this a local track since it's the only purpose built road course track in Iowa. I've been to this track for real once, but did not get the chance to drive on it. I did happen to talk to the track manager since they were have a local hot lap session that day, he basically told me most of the major series love the layout of the track, the fact that's it's flat is the only reason no one uses it. It's built on an old soybean field. The layout is spot on in sim, the only thing different is the real thing doesn't have all the trees, remember the land used to be a soybean field. I wish some series would use it, it maybe flat, but it's very demanding and a fun track to run, the local SCCA runs hot laps at the end of the year, when Pontiac Racing was around they'd run hot laps a couple times a year(that's when I went), but other then that the road course is seldom used, the pit road is used as a dragstrip occationally as well. Two videos today, both at Mid-America, first up is the Alpha Romeo Giulietta followed by the Audi RS 4. I'm not sure if the Audi is more powerful then the Alpha or the changes I made in my wheel setting suggested by a friend, but Adui lap is not only quicker, but looks a lot better, with the new settings I could really "feel" the car a lot better then I used. He goes by M_Nesevitch over at Stunod Racing.

Le Mans Challenge
Learning to drive the Sports 5000 and prototype classes is going to take a bit longer then the lower classes, these two types of cars are far more powerful and to say they're lose is an understatement, the Sports 5000 Ferrari 512 Coda Cortia is tail happy going in a straight line, LOL! I haven't taken any others in the class out yet, I did take the Matra Simca MS650 prototype out an is a little bit less powerful and tail happy, but still quite a handful to drive. I might try to master(so to speak) the prototypes then the Sports 5000's since the one I did take out was more challenging then I thought it would be. I did get below a 4 minute lap time in the Ferrari, but it wasn't a very clean lap. NAGT Trans Am Challenge I thought I had all the tracks for this challenge except Pittsburgh, as far as I can tell this tracks not in any sim. I don't have the correct configuration for Detroit and Indianapolis Road Course, nor can I find them, so I'll run what I have. I'm hoping the rest are the right configuration, Mid-Ohio is, so I did run a few laps there, noting what I'd call great laps, it seemed the car was sluggish, slow even. I'll be pushing a little harder the next run, but I'll be knocking out Detroit and Indy first. Maybe next time I won't do a car and track challenge that has so many of both! I know it's been a few days since my last update, but I've been kind of busy, I've been able to get some laps in and videos made, I just haven't made it here. I finished the Le Mans '70 Sports 200 entries that are in the mod, it's a Porsche 910, I'm getting so comfortable at this track. it's just learning each cars braking point, so far they've not been that different, but now that I'm getting to the more powerful cars that might change. I'll be starting the Sports 5000 class next and there are quite a few cars in mod that ran the '70 Le Mans race. I took the Aston Martin to both Road Atlanta and Homestead, I'm just going to have to deal with the frame rate issue and get the best I can. To me, the Aston seems a bit slow and under powered, since I've never driven this car in real life I have no idea, but compared to other mod that have the same car, this version seems a bit off. I'm trying to get as close as I can to the real TA4 times as I can, but due to the frame rates at Road Atlanta I think I'm missing quite a bit of time, I could only get within 15 seconds of my target time. At Homestead I still had frame rate problems, but not near as bad and got within 6 seconds of the TA4 time and I was quite happy with that. We did at lot of hot lapping at Stunod and even did a 25 lap shootout challenge against the A.I. This is becoming a lot of fun comparing yourself to the other guys who participate. stunodracing.net/index.php I'm wondering if just give a link to my YouTube or continue to add them here, there's an awful lot of video's today, like six or nine, so today I'm just going to give the url for my YouTube Channel. OK, so YouTube won't let me go to my page to get the url, so I'll post one video and hopefully you can get to the main page and see the others, of course some of them show up on the list on the right. We've had quite a few posted over the past few days in different sims and mods and tracks, it really is a lot of fun running 10/20 laps pushing the car to the limites to get the best lap you can. Been kind of a busy few days for me, not a lot of time behind the sim wheel. I did take some time to get back with the '37 mod, to say these cars are a handful is a understatement! There are little to no garague adjustments to try to make the cars handle better. These things have little to no brakes, light front end and a heavy rear end. I tried several cars and either by the time I got to the Benz I got used to driving them or it handles better then the others, I didn't try the Alfa Romeo that has the Ferrari emblem on it, yet. This is one of two track I have that say they're from '37 and it looked the easiest to learn the cars on. Over braking and under braking was my biggest issue and hitting the gas to hard is a bad thing too in these, once I figured all that out it was just a matter of getting a decent lap in, the track maker says the lap record is a 2:10, the best I could get so far is a 2:40. I figure by the time I get to between 2:25 and 2:15 I might be ready to try to take on Targa Florio. Did a lot of hot lap over at Stunod's http://stunodracing.net/index.php mostly with NASCAR Racing 2003 Season and a little rFactor, I've got a video of my hot lap with the NAGT Pontiac GTO at Talladega Road Course and a slideshow of the NR2003 lap times. I don't know why, but some days I have great frome rate and some days I don't, even with the same car and track with the same settings. This particular part of the new challenge has been a challenge just to get what I think is a good lap I was hoping to get around a 2:25, but because of frame rate drops in the some of the turn complexes I know I didn't not carry enough speed threw them. The TA4 class car hit a fast lap last year of a 2:16, I'm calling this done at a 2:30, you'll see in the video the few places I lost a second or two, I don't really know if it was me, the car which to me is kind of slow or frame rate, it was probably a combination of all three. On to Road Atlanta where I hope to have better luck with the frame rates. We're still doing Hot Laps over at Stunod's stunodracing.net/index.php today we had driver choice, so I chose some old friends, Project Wildfires's CTS mod at Lowes Night BR using a truck that's at least 13/14 years old, when I was running the #00. I'm starting of the Sortcars with the 2000 Class and the first car on the circuit is the Chevron B16. I really wish I had lap times for these cars and maybe I haven't looked in the right places to find them. Anyway this car was a blast to drive, lot's of fish tailing, once I figured out how to control the car the speed came, I kept hitting 4:19/ 4:20's I felt there was more out there and pushed to a 4:18.2, I left a little in the last sector that should have given me a 4:17 and change, but I'm happy with the 4:18, maybe I'll hit the 4:17 with the next car in the challenge which I think is a Porsche. I did do some laps in the NAGT Aston Martin DBRS9 at Sebring, but not really knowing how the NAGT cars match up to the Trans Am cars I'm not sure what times to push for, I'm thinking 10 to 15 withing the times of the Trans Am1 class, that's the most powerful, fastest class. For that class the fastest race lap was a touch over 2:02, I'm at a 2:29. So, I'm going to have to push a little harder and find where I'm losing speed. I wont post a video until I can get all I can out of the car, by the way, the A.I. at 100% is hitting a 2:13 in this car. Saturday I really didn't feel like doing my challenges and my stepson was here, I thought he's want to drive NR2003 like he did Friday night. I ran a little NR2003 BR2015 Cup mod at Daytona BR just to get used to going in circles again, I did a full practice run, about 35 laps, then I made a video of the middle portion of the run, uploaded that and waited for the kid to say he wanted to drive some. I waited and waited, I guess he's rather play those racing games on his phone because that's all he did. So then I spent the rest of the night watching movies with the wife. I finished up the BTCC Track challenge today, I went to Snetterton Circuit first, the track record is a 1:55.6, race record is a 1:56.3I ran a 2:02.2 I kept pushing for that one second or two I needed to get my goal, but I either pushed to hard or not hard enough and couldn't find that other second or two. I ran a few other laps in the 1:02's but never faster than a 1:02.2, so I'm calling this one done. Next I went to the short version of Silverstone, the track record is a :58.0, race record is a 58.4, I ran a 1:02.2. Frame rates in the last sector really hurt me, there is a ton of detail in that sector and at times my PC just can't keep up, this was one of those times. A relatively easy short fast track and only took a few laps to get my goal, I probably should have pushed a little harder, but I'm really wanting to get this challenge done. I'm within four seconds of the track record, so I'm calling this one done. Last, but not least is Brands Hatch GP, I thought I had a more modern version of this track and after looking at almost all my track headings the newest version I have is 1985, the configuration is the same, the trackside objects are different of course and I really don't know if the grip would be better in a newer version or not. Track record is a 1:30.6, race record is a 1:31.3, I ran a 1:38.5, again I couldn't find the missing seconds to get my goal, I don't know if it was the track or me. I really pushed hard to get that last two or three seconds, but again couldn't find them. How hard is it to leave tire marks and make smoke on grass and dirt? I did that twice in turn one trying to find a faster way around. I had several laps in the 1:38's and could get anymore then the 1:38.5, so I'm calling this track and this challenge DONE! I may in the near future redo this challenge using a BTCC mod, but you'll just have to wait and see. Onto NAGT at the Trans Am tracks challenge! I know my buddy Highbank is thrilled about this one! Four video's for your pleasure today, the NR2003 run and the last three BTCC track challenge videos. Enjoy! After running laps in this beast the goal became running a clean lap and be faster the the Porsche's. Now I know why Corvettes were not the car of choice for road courses, they turn like bricks, sure they have a ton of straight line speed, but they just don't turn with any amount of speed and the brakes aren't really any good either. I finally got a 4:15 clean lap in after six laps last night and I've done at least 20 laps on previous tries. I'm calling this car done and moving on to the sportscars and saving the prototypes for last. There are way more cars in this mod for the sports cars and they're in two classes, so this could take me a bit to knock them out. With each challenge I complete I feel my skills improving, which is the ultimate goal of this. I may not ever get to drive a real race car, but if I ever have the money to get a decent sports car I can join the local SCCA club and run hot laps at temporary courses and maybe one day at Mid-American Motorplex. First of three tracks completed tonight, well, this is actually the track I first ran when I came up with the challenge, so this is actually a week or so old. I also had to skip Snetterton, I didn't have the right configuration. I did get it tonight and did run about 10 laps, but no where near track record, I kept blowing Nelson corner. I'll get it done this week end. Croft Circuit report, the track record is a1:23.3 and race record is a 1:24.5. I posted up a 1:29.0. I did this one a week or so ago so I don't remember much about the run, only that it was kind of a challenge and I had to push to get it. Rockingham Circuit report, no NASCAR fans, not that Rockingham tho this is one of the few tracks that is an oval in England, this race is run on the front straight and infield road course and is very tight and twisty. The track record is a 1:22.0 and race record is a 1:23.1 I posted a lap of 1:28.0 and really had to push to get it, you'll see in the video I really took the turn called Deene really hard and I think I left something in the last turn called turn 4. This was a fun, but demanding track, I'm not sure I'd want to race 20 other cars here. Knockhill Circuit report, WOW, what a track! I thought brands Hatch Indy was short and and hard to get the time I was shooting for, this place is a short tricky track. Track record is a 51.5 race record is a 51.9 Posted up a :57 the best I think I can get. For many laps I couldn't braak the one minute mark, then I hit 59 and change, then went to a minute plus laps and did several more of those, then I said my next fastest lap will be the last lap I run here, two laps later I hit the 57 second lap and called it done! I really couldn't tell where I was losing time or where to make it up because wherever I tried to push a little harder I'd go off track, I may take another shot at this a another time just to knock a second or two off and get my goal. I'm busting threw this challenge because I'm really excited about doing the NAGT Trans Am track challenge, I'm going to do all the tracks, Trans Am West and Trans Am and all the NAGT cars. The only track I haven't found yet is the Pittsburgh International Race Complex, there are still a few sites I have to check yet, I hope one of them has it, but I can live if I don't get it. This weekend I'll get the Corvette done in the Le Mans challenge so I can get to the sportscars. Thursdays are now Bluder Thursday! I'll show you screenshots and maybe a few videos of some of my bigger driving blunders just to show you that I'm not perfect. If I just didn't think of this I would have more to show you, but I only have a few for you today, mostly trying to learn the braking points of the '70 Corvette at Le Mans. Before I talk about the challenge, I'd like to take a minute and tell you about the Hot Lap section over at Stunod Racing stunodracing.net/index.php using NASCAR Racing 2003 Season, there are several different "challenges" so to speak, from Cup cars at Phoenix, Indy Cars at Michigan to Rally cars at fantasy version of Riverside. So, if you have NR2003 come join us! On to the challenge!! First up tonight is Brands Hatch Indy, a short fast track. The track record is a 47.9, race record is a 48.4, like I said, short and fast. My fast lap was a 51.1 I kept trying to get faster, but frame rates kept me from getting it, all in all a little over 3 seconds off the track record is pretty damned good I think! I took on Thruxton next, track record is 1:16 and race record is 1:17.3. This was my first time ever on this track and the first couple of laps I was over 30 above track record, I kept digging and pushing and knocking of 5 seconds here, 5 seconds there on this very bumpy track, if you're on the gas at the wrong spot those bumps will throw you off your line, once I figured those bumps out I get even faster! I did go of track one time and the bumps for a better lack of temps off track are even worse, they threw the car 10 feet at least in the air!. By the time I got the braking points and bumps figured out I had a couple of laps in the 1:25's, I gave it one last good try and finished with a 1:22.3, just a couple of clicks more then 5 seconds over the track record, not bad at all. I went on to do the next track which is Oulton Park, but I didn't have the right configuration which is called Oulton Park Island Grand Prix, I had every other version, but that one. SO I went looking for it and found two of them, one didn't load and the other had some messed up graphics, but did load, so I used it. The track record is a 1:25.48 and race record is a 1:26.4. Again, this was the first time I've even been on this track as well and i took me a little bit to figure out where to push and where to coast, the little short sharp up hills and drops do some funky stuff to the car. I was getting 1:34's for quite a few laps then I pushed a little harder in some turns and shortened my braking distance in other, especially the hairpin turn call Island Bend and cut a 1:29.6 laps well within my 5 second goal! All in all, I'm quite happy with how the night went, I only have six tracks to go and I've been on three of them before, so I should be able to knock them out pretty quickly. I've decided to us the US Pit's NAGT mod for my next challenge at all the tracks the Trans Am series is going to this year. I know the mod is kind of dated, but there are a lot of cool cars in it I want to drive. I haven't looked to see how many tracks I'm doing, but along with the '73 F1 challenge I should be busy threw the summer. Three videos for you tonight, I forgot to jump into my car at Oulton Park so you get to see a default mod car. I hope you all are enjoying reading my little sim racing adventure as much as I enjoy doing it and telling you all about it. I spent the night thinking about and running mods on what challenges I'm going to do next. I picked the 1973 F1 season cars and tracks to after the Le Mans challenge, it should be pretty interesting and fun. I drove one for a bit tonight and it was definitely a handful. I have most of the tracks, but I'll check to see if I in fact have them all. I have a folder with 10 tracks in it, I'm pretty sure they ran more then 10 races.
For the modern car challenge I'm having a bit of a hard time coming up with something, I toyed around with doing the DTM cars and tracks, but the most recent mod I have is 2013, not that that's old, but a little out of date. I also toyed with the WTCC cars and tracks, that's a 2015 mod. I also have a 2016 and 2017 F1 mod, but do I want to do two F1 mods at the same time? I also have a 2016 Indy car mod, but do I want to do two open wheel cars at the same time. I'm kind of leaning toward the Indy cars since I haven't done an oval yet. But then again I'm also thinking about finding something similar to the Trans Am series, tho I wouldn't know what mod to use since we don't have anything even close to modern Trans Am for a mod. I'll be done the Cobalt at the BTCC tracks pretty quickly, so I better come up with some soon. First I'd like to apologise for my error on my last post about this challenge, I kept saying a 3 plus minute lap times when in fact they were 4 plus minute lap times, my wondering mind thinking about something else instead of concentrating on the task at hand. Also my typos, they're going to happen, accept it, LOL! On to the challenge! I took the Porsche 914 out first and had a hell of a time getting in one decent lap for the first couple of laps, I kept under braking the hairpin turn, then I took a deep breath and when at it, first I was getting around a 4:42 and did that for a few laps, then hit a 4:41 lap and took one more lap to see if I could beat that, I gave it all I had, pushed my driving skills to the limit and hit a 4:39.9! Man was I thrilled! To know I still left something on the track and once my skills get better I can probably hit a 4:37 with this car, I just need more wheel time. I stopped there tho, not wanting to disappoint myself and push beyond my limit and really my comfort zone. Then I took out the Porsche 911 and had similar problems, but at different turns in the track, this car is 10 miles an hour slower then the 914, so a 4:40 lap is probably not likely at my skill level. It took a few laps to get up to speed and then I pushed again, this car gets a little squarely when hitting the gas if the car isn't straight. I posted up a 4:44 lap even after messing up the last corner and probably losing a second or two, but still had a great lap for me. So, I'm calling these two cars done and moving on to the next class which I know off the top of my head has Corvettes and Ferraris and a few others in it, so this part should be interesting. Two videos for you, the 914 outside the car and the 911 inside the car, again another mod that doesn't have the drivers body, but you still see the wheel work when the car gets loose. If you noticed in the last few videos I left what I'll call the telemetry on so you can see the speed, rpm, gear, sector times and which lap I did my hot lap on. Thanks for reading. So, after looking at the BTCC site today I decided to do the tracks they're running in order, it's my challenge and I can change it a little bit, right? Right. So the first track they go to isn't for a points race as I understand it, they call it a season launch and I'm guess it's a preseason warm up, I didn't read that much, I get bored quickly reading stuff on the 'net, LOL! The track they go to and visit again for the second race of the season is Donington National, the track record is a 1:09.4 and race lap record is 1:09.7. You know from reading this blog is to get within five seconds or better of the track record, I ran a 1:14.3, in fact run several laps in the 1:14's, so I did in fact get within five seconds of the track record! This was my first time on the track and I can't believe I got that fast that fast! I may run the track again when I get the next track done, which is Brands Hatch Indy, I did run a few laps there this morning and I did pretty good, it won't take long before I get my goal there. Since the lap is so short I did an exterior video, then after a few clicks, which you will see, I continued with an interior video. I wish this was one of those mods that had hands and feet in the interior view so you could see the hand and foot work even tho I only have a two peddle wheel system, it's still cool to me to see the left foot work the clutch. I'll be getting back to Le Mans '70 tomorrow and get the Porsche's finished up, I hope. Since this is the 60th season of the BTCC I decided to get as close as I can to the BTCC track record at all the tracks they run on now and some of the former tracks as well in a car that could have and probably should have ran in the series the Chevy Cobalt. The first track I'm doing is the Croft Circuit, the track record is a 1.23. I'm currently at a 1.29, I think I can knock a few more seconds off, I'm not pushing the car hard threw the two sweeping right handers and I'm probably using to much brake getting into couple other corners. If I can get down to a 1.25/6 I'll be extremely happy and move on to the next track. I've decided to do one classic car/track challenge and one modern car/track challenge at a time and switch back and forth until they are completed, then move on to the next one. I'm hoping this format will be as entertaining for you readers as it will be for me to do them. BTW, I took yesterday off,if you didn't notice, LOL! I made a serious run at a sub 1.50 lap last night. I was doing really well threw sectors one and two ever run, tying or beating my times in each sector every lap and really feeling good about getting that lap time I challenged myself to do. Sector three is a whole nother story and not because of my driving most laps, tho there were a few over drives in turn 19. Frame rate drops was what killed the run most laps, dropping from plus 25 to 7 going into a turn really kills a lap time, especially that wide sweeping right hander I think they call 17 and 18 or it could be just 18, if you hit that fast enough you can really get a great lap in. That's where I took the biggest from rate drop, there's a lot of detail in that area and the few laps that the drop didn't kill the lap I was getting faster and faster, a 1.55, then a 1.54, then a 1.52 which is my fastest lap to date and where I'm going to put this challenge on hold for now. I know once I get a new video card the frame rate drops will not be so hard to kill a lap run. Then I'll take another good shot at it and I know I'll get it. Last night at www.stunodracing.net longtime member/admin/friend put up a post asking if anyone would be interested in doing so hot lapping, of course I jumped right on that! The first sim chosen was NASCAR Racing 2003 Season most because that's the main sim focused on there, using the GN55 mod. The track chosen was Lime Rock Park 2013 GP. Thinking I already had this version(there are four different versions of this track, I had three) I went out and cut some laps and even tho I was using the wrong version I was still as fast as the guys running the right version. When I finally figured out I was using the wrong version(the old Michael Waltrip Napa commercial popped in my head, "I'm at the wrong track!") and downloaded the correct version I cut comparative laps to the other guys who posted up lap times and I'm happy with that. I can't wait to see what Highbank comes up with next. After I did the Lime Rock runs I fired up rFactor and jumped in the 911 and cut about 5 seconds off my fast laps from the day before, feeling satisfied with that I switched to the 914 and to my surprise I was even faster in that car, cutting a 3.42 lap, I always thought the 914 was a little slower then the 911 since it's smaller and lighter, guess I was wrong. I did search the internet for lap times at '70 Le Mans to see how I was compared to the real thing, but could only find race results, I may do another search just to be sure. I'm thinking my goal with these two cars is to cut a lap below 3.40 and call that part of the challenge complete. I've got two videos for your enjoyment and can't wait until I get a new video card so the quality is better. The Lime Rock video is up first, it's the final three laps of my run last run, you'll see why, LOL! The middle lap is my fast lap and I forgot to put up the timing sheet, so you'll have to take my word for it. The second video is my hot lap in the 914. I happen to luck out that the in sim car's number is #40, I didn't paint it. Today I think I'm going for the F1 at C.O.T.A. challenge. I should have done this with the Nordschleife challenge and I still might. I might also see how I do with GTR2 and Race 07, tho that might be pushing it a little too much. Then again, this is a challenge. The versions are very similar, the only difference is there is not chicane before the grandstand straight. I can see why they put it in, you're pretty much flying by the grandstands and pit road, the chicane makes pitting easier forsure when actually racing. My lap was 3.21 and I'm using the regular pta physics, not the ones that come with the mod since those physics don't get along with Windows 10. I don't think I did to bad, I think I maybe able to knock another second or two off by shorting my braking distances in a few sections. In the video you'll see the tires come up thru the fenders and the car sink into the track, this is normal for this sim. I also haven't finished painting the car hence no tail lights and everything else is on the back of the car. I'm going to take every car model in the mod starting with the Porsche 911 and keep trying to beat my fastest time. I'm also going to see if there is anything on the 'net about the fastest lap that year in each car and see how close I can get. Right now my fastest in the 911 is 4.55 I think I can cut off another five seconds at least off of that, right now my biggest time loss in the hard righter after the long straight, I either brake early or to late, figuring out when to brake there will drop my time, I'm also losing a little time in the set of turns after the second long straight, again when to brake is the problem. So far after only one day this challenge is fun, but I haven't gotten to the big over powered cars yet. I'm going to use a lot of in mod cars for most of these challenges since painting takes time away from being on the track. If you readers could leave a comment I'd greatly appreciate it, I'd just like to have an idea of who's reading. I know of a few guys are, but like to see how many others, thanks. I'll be doing more video's also, the only reason I didn't for the Nordschleife challenge is who wants to sit threw a 10 minute solo lap replay and there are a few really bad camera angle in the as well. I got rFactor pretty much back to normal last night after my post, then I ran a 10.29 at Nordschleife. I was pretty happy with that even tho it wasn't my fastest lap, it was a good lap after all the trouble I was having after the update. And now the really big news! I just ran a 9.47 at Nordschleife! There was a little screen stutter, the one bad time I did go off track a bit, I stayed in it recovered and continued. I didn't think the lap was going to be that fast, I had a feeling it was a fast lap and I was hoping around 10 minutes, I did lose it when I heard the spotter announce the time. I enjoyed the challenge and am glad it's over so I can move on to the next one one. I'm not sure what that'll be yet, I'm still working on the F1 challenge, learning to drive those classic cars. I'm thinking maybe some classic P1 cars a LeMans. Maybe. I spent the better part of the last two days trying to get rFactor running the way it was before the Windows 10 update. I'm almost there, I'm trying to remember everything I did the first time to get it to run good. I'm about 75% of the way there, I just have to remember a few more things, the update put the PC back to using one PCU, I fixed that, now I have to remember the video card settings. I should have written it all down, but who knew I'd have to remember, LOL! I only ran a few laps in NR2003 when I thought the stepson was going to ask to drive, but he never did, to bad too, it's pretty funny when you tell him to hold the wheel straight and he does everything else but. Anyway, hopefully I'll be posting something a little more interesting tomorrow. Even if I have to go to GPL and run some more of the 1965 mod, I'll load up Fraps fist so I can have some pictures.
So Windows decided it needed a huge update today which took better then half the day to do. After that was done my wheel didn't work, it took an hour to get that working again. Then I fired up rFactor and that ran like shit. NR2003 actually ran fine and so did GPL, but when I shut it down to load up Fraps to take screenshots for you readers and then reloaded up GPL to play the replay the P.C. decided to lock up hard, then it did a recovery after I shut it down and restarted it. Now I'm scared to try to do that again, so no screen shots today. If I can't get rFactor to work I know my Simbin sims won't either. So , I'll Learn GPL and hopefully it won't lock up when I try to do screenshots. To say I'm pissed and disappointed is an understatement, maybe after being shut down for the night and refire the P.C. up in the morning it will decide to run rFactor like it has been and I can continue my challenges.
With all the hard racing I've been doing the past week or so I thought I'd take it a little easy today with some Trans Am '69. Specifically the AMC Javelin at Watkins Glen '67 configuration. Throwing this American Iron around the track is a lot of fun and I'm learning a lot about how to brake with these old beasts(that's the main objective with running these mods), they didn't have A.B.S. back then so you had to really pay attention to the amount of brake pressure you were using and braking to distance, brake to early and you crawled threw the corner, to late and you were in the wall, sand trap or who knows were, LOL! Thought I'd do a video of my hot lap, it may not be the fastest lap ever, but it was pretty clean and fast for me! Enjoy! We have my step-son this weekend and he's learning to drive NR2003 XNS mod, so maybe I'll blog about teaching him or should I say trying to teach him, LOL! |
